B6 & unisom?

My insurance doesn't cover unisom but my doctor mentioned taking b6 & unisom ? How much unisom though

Unisom is over the counter in the sleep section of the pharmacy. You may be able to get a store brand, just look for the ingredient doxylamine succinate. I think the brand is about $10 for a box of 24 or so and the store brand should be cheaper. Plus the box will last longer because you can break the tablets in half. B6 should be with the other vitamins. Don't hesitate to ask the pharmacist if you aren't sure! Unisom and B6 are the exact same ingredients as in the prescription morning sickness pill Diclegis, and Diclegis is hundreds of dollars a bottle. That's the drug companies for you.

My doctor said 50mg of b6 3 times a day and one unisom tablet at night. You can break the unisom in half and take half at night and half in the morning. It has worked pretty good for me so far.

It's something you can buy OTC. I would try half a tablet (not gel caps) and see how that works for you. Half a tablet makes me really drowsy, a whole tablet zonks me out for almost 12 hours. Just follow the dosing on the box. If in doubt, call your doc.

Every grocery store and pharmacy carries them. Off brands are super cheap too.
