Is 37 weeks good enough to give birth?

Question

I'm 35 weeks and I'm 2cm dilated. Dr thinks baby will be born around 2 weeks or less. But I'm kind of worried baby will have complications. Dr. Hasn't said nothing about complications so should I take that as a good sign? Anyone given birth at 37 weeks and everything was fine?

37 weeks is generally acceptable but the longer baby cooks, the better. If baby comes naturally at 37 weeks then fine but don't try to have baby come then. It's still considered early term. Full term is better.

37 weeks is considered full term. Many babies are born healthy at that time. However, if you have no complications, relax and let it ride. Those last couple weeks do a lot for lung development and sucking reflex. If your doctor says everything is doing great, there's no need to worry.

My sister delivered her 2nd and 3rd baby around 35 weeks and each baby was healthy, they didn't have to be in the NICU they were around 6 lbs but perfectly fine, grew up healthy and they run around like crazy! Normal kids, delivering early won't be bad, don't worry bc you'll get to meet baby sooner☺️ good luck!

I was born very early at 26.5 weeks...2 pounds back in the early 80s. In the long run I turned out just fine! Technology has come a long way with preemies.

My son was born at 31 weeks and other being small had no problems! The last few weeks of the baby being in the womb is just them gaining weight x x

37 weeks is considered full term. You could be 2 cm dilated for a month, it sounds like a lot but really isn't. Remember, due dates are just estimates!

My daughter was born at 37 weeks and my dr said that she was considered full term.  My oldest was born 9 weeks early.  Don't stress
