Considering the name Onix or Onyx for our son. Which spelling is best? Thoughts on this name? Thanks girls!!

I'm sorry, but my first thought is of Pokemon (it's spelled both ways in the games depending on which generation you're playing).

I'm just curious what you and your husbands ethnicity is? I do like the name, but I think it would be incredibly awkward if your son was light skinned, blonde with blue eyes. Then he would probably be made fun of for the name all his life. Otherwise, cute name!

I think this is a case where the "y" instead of "I" spelling is totally appropriate, since "Onyx" is the correct way to spell the mineral/rock. I'm not usually one for names that are this unusual, but I like "Onyx" quite a bit :)
