What to do/ idk where this belongs:p

Hi everyone! So i just graduated from high school. I really want to go to cosmetology school but my parents are making me go to a semester of college first to get the feel because I changed my mind. Well I forgot about the deadline for registration to pay my tuition, I swear I didn't do it on purpose! Anyway they emailed me and said that my classes have been dropped and I can re-register if I pay a 100$ re-registration fee plus the balance of 200$ that's in my account. I don't know how to tell my parents because I know they will be really mad. What do you guys think I should do, should I pay to re-register or convince my parents to let me just go straight to cosmetology school? I know this isn't really like health related or anything I just really need help:(

Go to college first. Pay what is necessary. I am a former cosmetologist. When, I first started cosmetology one if the instructors told me that there is a HIGH rate of people who gets there license, but then do not stay in that field very long. I got out of that field after 5 years. It's a constant hustle. You have to constantly sell yourself to find new clientele. Even if you are good word of mouth only goes so far. Something else that you need to take in to MAJOR consideration is that even if you do succeed and are able to build a great clientele you aren't really able to ever relocate once you have done so. If you ever decide to move to another city you're going to lose all of your clientele. You'd have to establish yourself all over again. Not fun. Oh, not to mention you don't get any paid sick/vacation days, or maternity leave. Ultimately, I got out of the field because of these reasons and when I got pregnant I felt guilty about working with and inhaling such strong chemicals.

I'd recommend telling your parents first and see what they think? Then maybe ask if you can go straight to cosmetology school. Cosmetology is something good to have under your belt, you can always go back to school for something different after hair school. Plus you'd be able to do hair while in school. Hope that helps :)

I would tell them before the re-register dead line. They'll be ever more upset if you wait past that.

Now as for everything else, I can't say much. You're an adult and I don't I now there details. If they have agreed to pay for you cosmology school, just as long as you do one semester, I say do it. That's a sweet deal!! Someone is paying for your school but if not then have no opinion. It's between you and your folks.
