When are you supposed to have a baby shower?

I'm due February 1st and would like to do it in November. What I would really love is a holiday themed shower (I'm a Christmas nut!) but people already have so many obligations that time of year I don't want to be another.

I've seen many Feb. due date people saying that they're planning for an early shower because the standard 2 months for many would fall right next to Christmas and other holidays. My mom and I liked the idea of right before Thanksgiving. I feel it would be easier for me to prepare things too with an early shower because of the holiday busyness and my job.

I'm due in February and will be having our first  baby shower  in September due to our family being in San Antonio.  We will have two more after that.

I'm due in February so my mom wants to do it early January so some of my friends that are still in college will be on break and so will my mom since she is a teacher.

I'm not due until the end of February, so I plan on doing the last weekend in January, or the first weekend in February. I live in Ohio, so we might have weather to contend with, but it's normally just really cold that time of year!
