Medical vs Surgical?

I'm 5 weeks & wondering what is better a surgical or medical abortion?
I'm wondering what is less traumatic on your body & mind & better if I still want to have kids at a later time?

I had a surgical abortion and I was awake through the entire thing. They gave me the shot in my cervix, and then the pain steadily got worse as they used the dilators. It hurt like hell, but it wasn't unbearable. I chose the surgical abortion because it would be done once I left the clinic. Expect cramps and tenderness afterward too.

I had a medical abortion at 16 with no pain medication. It was horrible .... And scarring. They didn't put me to sleep. I wasn't in twilight sleep. They didn't even give me a shot inside my uterus for numbing. They have two 500mg ibprofen before he procedure and I puked them up right after. I had no complications. I'm now 20 expecting a baby girl in jan with my wife. It was traumatic but I don't think other people had this happen.... I have never openly talked about it either...

I had a medical abortion at 9 weeks. all of the fetus came out, but I still had a lot of blood clots in my uterus. they had to take prongs with gauze on the end, and scrape them out. it was very painful. my dr has placed me as high risk with my current pregnancy due to scarring in my uterus. I think surgical would be easier but I didn't like the idea of a shot inside of me.

Surgical by far & more safer , I got put to sleep didn't see or feel nothing , medical is at home & no doctor's around if something happens . & you also see the sac of the baby while having a medical at home

Also, there is a small window for the medical abortion so if you do choose to go with that, I believe 9 weeks is the max time you can. I was 7 weeks when I had my surgical.

I had a surgical abortion 3 days ago and believe it was the better option of the 2. The procedure itself too between 2-4 minutes so they did keep me awake, but gave Valium and ibuprofen to help relax and control pain. I honestly feel that the medical would have been more traumatic because it is essentially a forced miscarriage done at home so you feel the contractions and see the passing of the fetal tissue through heavy bleeding. I wanted something that would be over and done with quick.

I had medical at 4/5 weeks and it didn't work. I had to go back at 13 weeks for a surgical. It really hurt having to do it all over again. I wanted to keep it once I found out how far along I was but they said the fetus would be damaged. It messed me up.
