Finding out you have PCOS/ Metformin
I went to the doctors about 2 weeks ago. She sent me in to have my testosterone and sugar checked. Since my periods are not regular she thought I may have PCOS. I got a call yesterday to call the office.
My Pap and sugar came back normal but my testosterone levels were high. She said that this is what they test for and confirm that I have PCOS.
Next is an ultrasound. I'm not sure that they are looking for exactly or how this will go. I've never had an ultrasound before. Also, in the hopes to actually get pregnant, she is placing me on a prescription of Metformin.
Has anyone ever been on Metformin? And if that doesn't work on its own then add another fertility medication to that. What has it been like for you living with PCOS? Any suggestions?
