When should you tell your boss?

I plan to stay at home, and I will share recommendations on who I think can best replace me.  I plan on sharing the news around 12 weeks, but it would be great to hear everyone else's perspective on best time!

I would at least wait til after your 1st dr appt. That way when they ask questions(like when your do and stuff) you will have some answers. With me, my boss was like a 2nd mother to me. We have a great relationship even outside of work. I told her as soon as I found out and showed her the test and all. Now she waited til after my appt to tell the higher ups and HR about it.

I had to tell my boss yesterday, 9 weeks, because I've had so many appointments and needed to work from home yesterday due to morning sickness. I really didn't want to tell her since I wasn't sure how she would react. As expected, I didn't get a congrats or anything, just a "if you can't work you should take sick time, not just work from home." It was over email and I meet with her today in person, so we will see how that goes. I'm a little bummed since she is one of the very few who know and I was hoping for a congrats. Our parents don't even know.

I told my boss almost immediately. I'm high risk and I knew there would be a ton of appointments. I think the sooner the better with work as long as your boss is an understanding person. My boss is great :)
