Do you recommend birthing tub?

Hi ladies! The hospital where I will be admitted for L&D, has a birthing tub/jacuzzi in each maternity suite. Was wondering if any of you ladies recommended laboring in there to help with contractions? How long did you stay in there? Did it help? Thanks!

I plan on using one! My mom is a nurse-midwife, and the one thing she shared that I'll pass along is that you should talk to your provider about use during labor. Many women love to use the tub during labor but it can slow labor down in some cases - might be better more for the birth itself! Good luck!

I wanted to do water laboring with my daughter but I was induced at 37 weeks :( hopefully this pregnancy will be better and I'll be able to do it!

I think you should give it a shot! I wanted at the very least the option to use a tub if I wanted because I have no idea as a FTM what is going to feel right for me in the moment.

I LOVE water. Swimming, or taking a bath is realy great for me. But... when I was in labor I couldn't stand it. It's great that your bithing center offers you birthing tub - but don't be fixed on it. Just go with the flow. Your body will tell you.

I havnt personally as this is my first but I am planning a water birth. A lot of my friends have had one and they would have one over again. I'll be gutted if I can't be in the water!! But every one is each to there own.
