Irregular spotting

Not quit sure where to post this, but my cycle has been completly jacked for about 4 weeks now. What does spotting and cramping every week for 3 weeks straight mean? Neg hpt. Dr apt on the 24th. What should I ask her to test for. I feel like I'm loosing my mind!!!
