Why are some sacs bigger than others.

Question

Just curious. I see some ultra sounds and the sac is barely bigger than baby but like with mine obviously it's bigger than baby. Does it have to do with stomach size or ovary size?

I've wondered the same. Also mine is so round and I've seen some that look like bananas. So weird!!

Baby b's sac is a lot bigger than baby A. But docs said it was normal. We will see tomorrow with another ultrasound. This was at 7w2days.

I think part of it is the fluid, but then you also have to remember you're just looking at a cross section slice, so maybe there's more fluid behind/in front on some that look small. When they press lighter/harder on your stomach doing an abdominal ultrasound, watch the screen, you'll be zoomed out/in. Until they make it 3D/4D, it's a flat picture. Same thing with a transvaginal, but more with the angle of the wand.

Some of it is amount of fluid, but the other aspect is the shape of the ute and how it's tilted. There may be more room from front to back, but the image is just showing what it looks like from a frontal view etc.

Mine is HUGE I was worried about it. This ultrasound is @ 7w I don't go back until 11 weeks so it's gonna be interesting to see how it changes too

Good question. My baby daddy's (ugh I hate that term) sister was HUGE. She had 1 baby and tons of room. She really looked like she was carrying twins or triplets almost. But I do believe it just has to do with how much fluid. I'm not a Dr so I may be wrong. Lol

I've wondered the same thing. I think maybe it has to go how many weeks??? I read that the anabolic sack grows 2 tablespoons a day or is it week? Maybe that's why...more fluid?  I had an ultrasound at 7w4d and it looked kinda like a banana and then today at 8w5d it was huge!
