Pump or formula?

Question

With my first child I was very young and not prepared at all for kids so I just bottle formula fed him. I'm now having my second child and not sure exactly what to do. Half of my friends say pump other half say formula. What are some of your opinions?

I would breastfeed anyway but formula is an expense that's just not worth it if you have a free way to feed your baby.

Honestly do what is best for YOUR family, yes breast milk is going to provide extra nutrients but it's not always best! 
I know I'm probably going to get a whole bunch of breastfeeding advocates giving me crap for saying that.
But speaking from experience I tried breastfeeding for as long as I could and tried to push through but I did not bond with our daughter until I bottle fed..
If it comes easy to you then you are so lucky and I'd encourage to try for as long as you can..

Pumping or breastfeeding would be best for both your health and the baby's health. However, breastfeeding is not as easy as just sticking your breast in the baby's mouth. It requires a lot of commitment and it's a learning process. You have to try what's most comfortable for you, but breast milk does have the most benefits.

breastfeeding is amazing for you and your baby, but it isn't easy. women will give up because it's something you have to really work on, but our bodies were made to do it! I can't wait to breastfeed!!

Breast milk is always better, no formula can ever replicate all the nutrients in breast milk. I read you don't want to do it because you are body conscious, maybe just try it and see if its something you can do or not. I was extremely self conscious but breast feeding for me helped me be more confident and it also made me lose all my baby weight so quickly, even my skin was perfect. The experience was just so great with bonding with the baby..

I formula fed my first child because I was very young and didn't know anything about anything. When my second came along I had the intentions of formula feeding her but when we got home from the hospital I was really low on energy to walk up and down the stairs so out of convince I breast fed her for the first few weeks then when I tried to change to formula she wasn't having it. She never cried or fussed and slept through the nights, but when I tried to turn her to formula she screamed bloody murder. So I continued to breast feed her and it became so much easier. I could feed her right when she was hungry and not have to fuss with making a bottle or warming anything up. She was so well behaved as an infant/baby. I did have to supplement around 8months because my body wasn't producing enough for her. But ultimately I was glad I breast fed her and had that close bonding experience, cause now that she's 11, cuddling on the couch with mom isn't always "cool"

Do you mean just exclusively pumping? Why not give breast feeding a try? There are sooooo many health benefits for both baby and mom. The first few weeks are hard but in the end it's best for baby and is truly a wonderful bonding experience.
