Do you recommend an epidural?

I gave birth with no epidural and I was induced with potocin...I was at 3cm for a week and I had high blood pressure

My nurse monitored me for a while, but as my contractions increased they let me walk/get in a hot shower for comfort. My contractions did start coming at a rather quick pace with me bearly being able to breathe, but I was able to refocus my pain and relax my body(most of the time) the contractions only really hurt when I wasn't able to relax and breathe in between.

I was in labor for 7 hrs 2 of those pushing. The pushing part had moments of intense pain, but I plan on having a second baby with no epidural

I did end up tearing though. Only 2nd degree

I react very strange to pain Medication...id rather avoid it

Done one with and one without. One with was an insanely long labor (110 hours) and I was tired out, was very pleased for it as could relax somewhat but was still achey and uncomfortable so couldn't sleep.

Second I had a quicker labor and never felt the need. Preferred it, but don't regret getting it the first time. Why not see how it goes and have one if you'd like it at the time?

For my son, I got one and it failed. I have no clue why, but they couldn't get it to work or do anything. I was induced and it was my first. It was just an awful laboring experience.

For my daughter, I had a homebirth so obviously  it was drug/epi free. It was amazing! My labor was only an hour though.

I say go into it with all you options open. It may not be so bad and you won't need one, but certainly don't feel bad if you do get it. 😊

Thanks for the input, everyone. I don't think I'll be in labor for that long because I've been in preterm labor for a few weeks so far. I'll also, more-than-likely, be giving birth to a premie. I've been on bed rest for 3 weeks, one week of such being in the hospital. I'm still in the hospital now on Magnesium and can only get up to use the bathroom. I've been 3cm, 80% effaced for 5 days.
