How soon do you bring your kids around your new boyfriend?

Single parent. Need advice about introducing my 6 year old son to my new boyfriend.

I would wait until you no for sure he is the one nothing worse then letting him meet the kids, kids get use to him then all of a sudden y'all don't want to be with each other no more

It's fine to introduce after a couple months but I wouldn't have your son spend quality time with him until it's serious enough that you two are planning marriage/partnership. It's a sacrifice for sure but it ensures that your son doesn't get attached to and his heart broken by someone that won't be a permanent fixture in his life.

This is something I that pisses me off with some people. Yiu should NEVER bring strangers around your child until you've been together a significant amount of time. I don't care if you knew them in high school or they're a family friend. You just don't do it. For one you don't know if that person has a deep dark secret regarding children whether it be harmful or sexual in nature. Two, you don't subject your child to that kind of confusion when their parents are newly separated (if that's the case) it's totally unfair to the child and selfish of the parent. My sister in law is doing this and it really chaps my ass. The divorce isn't even finalized and her and her husband have already introduced their new significant others to their kids. Within 2 weeks of daddy moving out. It's ridiculous and it disgusts me.

You can mention your kids you have a special new friend but I always think it's better to wait at least a few months before they actually meet.

I waited a couple of months with my BF who is now my husband. Even then I didn't really show PDA or stuff like that in front of him. We'd always go to chucky cheeses, movies, park, get ice cream etc. My son warmed right up to him! I kind of tried to make it about him when he was around.

I'm in the same boat...single mom dating someone I talked to my close family about it they all said to wait...I waited 2 months...best choice they always asking if they can do stuff or move in together lol...but the choice is urs u will know when ready for them to meet....good luck

Don't hide there existences from each other but maybe a month or two. You could go out for dinner and then separate off so the kids meet him but aren't pressured to get to know him for longer than an hour and then give them time to let you know how they feel etc.
