Break up stories
So I recently started dating again after a long term relationship ended.
I was seeing someone just for a few weeks and I thought things were going well.
But one night, he sends me a text saying he's really confused and doesn't know what to do with some news he received. So of course, I assume the worst. He tells me his ex of 6 years' mother has passed away. She had moved to Florida and told him she was going to be moving back to New York. And that she wanted to get back together.
I wasn't overly invested so I was very understanding and told him to do what he felt was right and we ended up breaking up.
Weeks later he texts me after us not talking to apologize to me. He was sorry for how he treated me and lying to me. Obviously I was confused.
Come to find out, his ex's mom didn't pass away. She wasn't moving back to New York. They weren't getting back together.
He said he didn't know how to break up with me, so he made up this elaborate lie.
He said he wasn't happy because our relationship was "too physical".
I've never been broken up with for having a too physical of a relationship before.
Has anyone else broken up with someone or been broken up with and lied about the reasoning ? Or ever broken up because your relationship was "too physical" ?
