Raising voice at toddler?

Do you ever lose your cool and raise your voice at your children? My son is two and his father isn't around to help so I often end up yelling at him when he does wrong. I feel so terrible for this. He doesn't act scared after I do it and sometimes it actually helps....

We all try to control it and we all fail, babe. Everyone loses their shit sometimes, including mom. On the up side, the ability of your child to tell when someone is going to lose it will benefit them later in life.

No only when they are doing something that will potentially hurt them. To get them to stop immediately  I used to yell at my little brothers all the time until I asked them why they don't listen one replied we can't understand you when you are screaming at us.

It doesn't happen often, but every once in a while I seriously lose my cool. I have one of those stubborn, free spirited children and yesterday I lost it! She was literally doing everything that she could get hurt doing and whining and crying for hours for no reason at all. It happens, but we always calm down and I try to tell her why what she's doing is wrong but she just turned two so I feel like it's more for me than her since she doesn't really understand

I don't consider it rasing my voice losing my cool because my two year old laughs at me sometimes if I don't put some base in it when I do he straightens up sometimes but being a stay home mom I learned to pick and choose my battles cuz at the end of the day he still does what he wants to do wether that's listening to mommy or not now when it come to his father he only has to tell him one time I think it's because I'm with him all day he know my weakness

Just inform him of why and encourage patience and use it as a learning tool for both of you (; you can let your child know you lost your cool and try not to raise your voice but their behavior hurts your feelings and you react , so you both can work on something , together (;

I'm 31 and my dad yelled at me all the time as a kid.... I've been in therapy for 2 years to work on issues of anxiety and fear of making mistakes. I think a lot comes from my dad. That being said, I've also found compassion for my dad and how it's not easy to raise kids and that he was likely doing the best he could. Try your best not to, but have compassion for yourself too.
