Thank you notes?

Are you going to send thank you notes/cards to everyone who came to your baby shower? What are the rules? What is expected?

I was raised to write a thank you note for anyone that has ever given me a gift. Therefore, I wrote a note to every person that was present. I personally find it beyond rude not to at least write one to each person that gave you a gift.

Absolutely, if someone took the time and money to pick out a gift, and attend my shower the least I can do is send a handwritten thank you note.

You have to write them! Asking people to address their own envelopes at your shower is tacky too. If they took the time out of their schedule to go buy you a gift and come celebrate with you then you should have the time to get their address and write it on an envelope. I know I gave both my shower hostesses a list of everyone's address so I already have them for thank you notes. If you don't have them you could always ask the hostess for her list of addresses.

Yup always send them. A way to make it nice and easy is at the place settings/shower have blank envelopes and ask everyone to write their name and address on it for you. :) makes it soo much quicker. I'm thankful my sisters did that at my bridal shower. Not writing thank you cards would be in bad taste. Even to the people that came to my wedding and didnt even give a card I sent them one saying thanks for coming to the wedding

I was going to but my daughter was a micropreemie and I was constantly with her in the NICU so I never got around to it, but i did call ir text everyone and tell them thanks!

I always sent them. I sent them for my bridal shower, bachelorette party gifts and wedding and I'll do them for both baby showers. I know it's crazy but our families live far apart and they both want to throw one. I'm kind of old fashioned and a thank you card fanatic but I've never gotten one for a baby shower not from the last few weddings I've attended so I don't even know if people do them anymore. I seriously doubt anyone would judge you for not sending them, you're about to give birth! A rational person knows that an 8-9 month pregnant woman has more on her mind than writing thank you notes. But it's up to you. It's a nice gesture but I don't think anyone will expect it.

Every shower I go to now haas a basket with envelopes and each guest addresses their own. Makes is WAY easier to send them because you don't have to hunt down info!

Lol. I may be a jerk but I didnt. I told people thank you when they handed me the gift. But then again i didnt have a shower. I bought everything myself and some people bought some clothes for him after his birth.

Okay so this is going to sound really wrong but I'm only sending it to people I know are expecting it like my grandma, god mother, aunt, friends grandmother. I personally thanked everyone but I know the older generation that was there will want a thank you note
