"The Pill" Questions

Hi Guys! I am in my very first serious relationship with an amazing guy. We have been waiting, but we might start going "all the way" in a month or two. We have discussed birth control and decided that condoms WILL be used along with another method such as the pill. I haven't started using the pill yet as I am not really to aquainted with how it works. I know the basics, but I still am a little confused. Can someone with experience maybe help me out?

1. I understand the pill has to be taken at the same time everyday. How specific is that? Is it within the same hour or at the exact same time (such as 10:34pm everyday)?

2. How does your pill affect your period? Do you like/dislike it?

3. What are some things I should keep in mind as a virgin using both the pill and condom?

My SO and I are still in school so babies aren't an option for us! 😂
