Does age matter?

What age do you guys think it's appropriate to begin disciplining your child? Now by discipline I mean saying no or a pop on the hand/bottom when they do something bad. Not so much a full blown beating with belts and stuff..

If your child is old enough to understand what the word "no" means, they are old enough to be corrected using it.

I'll be breast feeding and once my daughter gets teeth, if she starts to bite she will firmly be told no and the breast will be taken away.

So I said zero to one. They might not understand (at first) what they are doing wrong, but they will get it.
