Miscarriage of one twin??

I'll be going next week for my 12 week ultrasound. I'm curious though, I wonder if they were to tell me I lost one would they be able to safely remove it without hurting the other fetus? Has anyone had to go through this? I'm having identical twins.

I have a friend who didn't know she had one baby that was ectopic and one that was normal. Her doc and her thought she was just pregnant with one. Then one day, (don't remember how far along she was but it was pretty early, )she was rushed to the emergency room bc she was in excruciating pain and they had an emergency surgery. And the normal baby lived and is now 4 years old.

With identical twins they are a placenta so I don't know how they could remove one baby. What makes you think you lost one baby?!?!

Honestly I would cross that bridge when it comes. Highly unlikely they would remove one if they are sharing a sac. I lost a twin right after I learned I was having twins at 6w and my body absorbed it. Do you think you lost a twin?

I didn't have identical, but I had fraternal. I lost one at 7 weeks and the other was fine. Unfortunately I lost the other a couple of weeks later. With fraternal they each have their own placenta and sac. I don't think it's the same with identical.
