The issue is having your body temp raised too high. Also for me when I was pregnant showers that were too hot made me feel dizzy and faint so was then a safety issue, but that was just a personal thing

The reason you should avoid hot tubs and such are to avoid rising your body temperature. So I would assume the same reason would apply for LONG HOT showers but I think you would feel if you were starting to over heat, sitting in a tub versus standing in a shower makes a difference.

When im pregnant i take extra showers. Its just so relaxing. And i take hot showers. Doesnt burn my skin so i dont think it can rise my temp so high it would hurt the baby.

It probably depends on your definition of hot. I like REALLY hot showers, hubby can barely stand my temp in the water! Lol so yes, I have to tone down the heat. It's bad to get overheated. However the temp does have to be pretty high to worry about that and if it were causing ill effects you would normally remove yourself from the situation anyway bc you'd feel uncomfortable. Or so I've read anyway.
