Tdap?

Question

How many of u are getting the tdap shot? I was given a paper but wasn't told about it and I didn't have time to ask questions do u guys have any info on it if I should get it or not

Vaccines save lives. By getting it you'll be protecting your child from Tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis , whooping cough which can be very bad. I'm a nurse, children are vulnerable and need to be protected from these preventable diseases.

Definitely get it! When baby is born he/she is too young to vaccinate for that so the only way is to get the antibodies is through you. They usually do it around 28 weeks. You'll have a sore arm for a couple days but baby's health is worth it!

I'd suggest doing your own research (ideally finding independent, unbiased studies that are not funded by vaccine manufacturers or the CDC). I'm absolutely not getting the vaccine. It says right on the vaccine insert that it's NOT recommended during pregnancy because it hasn't been tested on pregnant women & the effects to the baby are unknown. Also, the pertussis vaccine sheds & has been known to actually spread the disease, causing outbreaks of whooping cough. Vaccines are not all good, & definitely not cut and dry.

Yes, I had it in the third trimester, to pass some immunity on to baby.

Pertussis is sooo bad. It's already an issue in the county I live in so I got it. I am also making anyone who wants to spend time with the baby get it. Mean mama.

I got mine at 30 weeks. Hubby is planning on getting it but we need to find a new pcp first. My family is getting it but MIL isn't. I'm not fighting with her. That's up to my husband to have that conversation. If she doesn't get it, then she has to be extremely healthy or she's not coming to see him. End of story

I got it at 28 weeks! I was told it passes so immunity to my baby! I didn't want to chance my daughter getting whoping cough. I am making her father get it too!

Had you ever heard anyone with whooping cough struggling to breathe as I have you would definitely be getting the shot. Additionally, if people have not had the shot they are not going to be allowed around my baby. Period. Immunity to diseases passed through the mother is good, but it is not perfect. As for me, I had the shot a few years ago and will be getting it again.

Just got both the tdap and flu shot! Also had a flu shot back in February when I first got pregnant.
