ZOFRAN?!

Has anyone used this while pregnant??  I've been taking it yesterday and today but I just saw a commercial saying it causes birth defects?? The medic on the boat that I'm working on cut them in half and said they were safe... But now I'm worried??

I was prescribed some. I didn't take any, my morning sickness isn't bad enough to take anything.

I fought against it for awhile . But I was throwing up  so much I keep getting deathly sick and dehydrated. I had no energy at all. I had black circles under my eyes and I had lost 20pds in a month.  I really think I would of lost my baby if not for Zofran.  I do think it's shouldn't be taken lightly . Only if you really need it. I was able to wean off it at 20 weeks I think . And now only throw up few times a week.

I had to take it when I caught the stomach bug because the other morning sickness pill I was taking wasn't working. My friend also had to take. Doctor said its fine but it's your baby. :)

It really is very safe. A lot of women use it. My sister used it in her pregnancy and everyone was just fine.

Any medication is going to say it CAN cause birth defects but doesn't mean that every baby will be born with one, however there are things that have never caused birth defects and those would be better to take... My midwife tried to put me on a class C drug that say it will cause defects and possible death and she tried telling me her friend took it and everything was fine... I'm not the one to test it on my kid. No.matter how much I didn't want to be pregnant to being with I still never took anything. But if you want and the doc says its okay that's up to you. Your doctor still can't get introuble IF something bad were to happen because its a warning on the med. So use your best judgment if you think you truly need it or if you can replace it with something else

I asked my doctor yesterday. She took it with all three of her children and they are fine. The only real study done on it was done by the competing morning sickness drug.
