For those having boys are you going to have him circumcised?

We chose not to have our baby boy circumcised. We got opinions from a couple of pediatricians, all of whom agreed that unless there is a medical reason to circumcise - like the foreskin being too tight - it is a choice. So we chose not to. The consulting pediatrician after his birth talked to us about how to keep him clean, and frankly, we didn't find it difficult. As he gets older my husband will talk to him about it. My husband IS circumcised. It's a good opportunity to talk about choices for your body and good personal hygiene. I respect the opinions of other parents on this topic to do what they believe is right for their baby.

We will not be doing it to our baby boy. So many nerves that will be getting cut off. Plus they've already proved that circumcision doesn't actually decrease infections like they originally thought so doing it for "cosmetic reasons" seems pretty silly to do for a tiny baby. My husband is circumcised but does not want the baby circumcised. He feels it's unnecessary for him to go through so much pain at just a few hours old. Even if he doesn't remember it later, it doesn't take away the fact that it's getting done. Not putting down anyone that is choosing to do it. Just our opinion on it :)

I told dad it was his choice. He isn't, so baby boy won't be either. Just have to teach proper hygiene to keep it clean.

Since most of the men I've dated have not been circumcised I thought that was more common, but I guess not. We're not planning on circumcising. As a woman I've never thought they look weird one way or another. And my husband, and previous partners, are happy and healthy with their uncut penises so why mess with something that's not an issue. To each their own of course.

If I was having a boy, we were going to have him circumcised. My husband developed problems from a sports injury at 13 & was circumcised then & is still "traumatized" to this day about it & would rather his son get it done when he doesn't remember it versus having to feel the pain at 13. And then just prefer husband & son match.

I did my first son and hated my decision. The pain and unnecessary part of it bothered me after doing more research after he was a little older.
Now I am 3 months away from having my second boy and very confused what to do. Should I make my sons penises the same?

I told my husband it's his decision. We will because of cultural reasons. He was actually circumcised at 5, so he remembers it. I think he's informed enough to make a decision for us, but I'm glad our son won't have a memory of it.

I've actually asked my husband about this topic and he without a doubt said yes he should be circumcised. I asked him if he was upset he didn't have the choice or felt like his pleasure had been decreased and he said no to both. I also don't want our son wondering why he looks different and I've read on here some women saying they know guys who have ripped their foreskin and it was very painful. These are my reasons. He may be upset later that we didn't and what older boy wants to go through that? I've also read that people compare it to FGM but I think that's a little extreme. I studied FGM in college and that's much worse.

Boys are very rarely circumcised in England. Mainly Jewish or Muslim bid for religious reasons
