Mirena and bleeding?

Question for ladies who have had a mirena put in pp, did you bleed and for how long? I got mine 8 weeks pp after my bleeding had stopped and now I've had my period for 2 weeks straight! Anyone else have a similar experience?

I was bleeding for a week after and decided to take it out after reading more about it and was feeling some of the side effects. Now just two days after having it removed I am bleeding more than I ever have my whole life (not exaggerating). Soaking through heavy pads every hour or so. The more I read about it the more I find how common it is. Some women with the mirena still in bleed for a month or so after. A woman I know bled 3 months on and off before it finally went away completely. Getting the mirena was the biggest mistake I ever made , so upset with myself.

Yeah I got mine at 6 weeks PP and I've been bleeding for 1.5 weeks so far. My coworker is an OBGYN that inserted it and she said it is normal and should resolve soon.
