Ovarian dermoid cysts

I know no one is a doctor but just seeing some insight. Anyone ever have one? Or know it's effect on TTC? I'm kinda curious. I found out today I have what looks like a dermoid cyst on my left ovarie. I had a ultrasound and the tech said it's something I would go over with my doctor (who I see next Friday) but she says to remove it would be to remove my ovary. The right ovary seems to be doing just fine though. So I'm curious how much this would effect TTC cause we've been at it for about 3 months now and ovbiously nothing and I have a 4 year old son and the cyst wasn't there then.
