I have a friend who has decided to take an interest in our new boss's interests, volunteers to come in on the weekends to pick up more work, does all these extra "homework" assignments... it's seriously threatening our friendship! I hate to admit to working in a hunger games kind of culture (hence the anon) but at the end of the day rewards are going to the top person, not the top team. If she were really interested in work it would be one thing, but then she runs down work to us all the time and makes fun of things others are trying to get done. What do you think -- win by any means necessary or be a team player? And how do you ladies/guys handle these people in your own teams?
