Help a maid of honor!!

Karen

Hey ladies!

My truest friend of 17 years is getting married on Saturday and I'm her maid of honor..naturally, I have to give a speech, but I don't feel like I know her soon to be husband very well..there whole 5 year relationship they have lived 8 hours away and I've only met him a couple times. Traditionally I think you are suppose to say something about the groom but I have no idea what to say!! Can anyone give me ideas or tips?! I need all the help I can get 😫

Just state the obvious... "I'm glad she has found you...someone to share life with...take of her or else your a dead man..." Lol you know those type of general assumptions that would be plausible since they ARE getting married.

It's okay to make the speech mostly about her. My MOH was my sister, and her speech was 99% about me with a few lines about how she knows how happy my hubby makes me. Same with his best man. His speech was a trip down memory lane for them, even with his best man being someone who grew up knowing me.

Just talk about how happy he makes her.. Just say great things about her and just reassure him that he's a lucky man to have someone like her. "I know we don't know each other well YET, but you're a very lucky man and you make 'her name' very, very happy" He knows you don't know him that well yet, so I think he will understand that there isn't much you can really say about him.. haha. I hope this helps.. I've never been a maid of honor.. lol

Just went to my mother-in-laws wedding the other day. The only people to give a speech was groom, bride, best man, and father of the bride.

The grooms best man makes his speech mostly about the groom; only a little bit at the end about how his life changed now that he's with the girl; do the same
