Birthing classes?

Are they worth it? How much do they cost? Thanks!

I don't know about actual birthing classes since I'm having to have a C Section, but I plan to go to the free classes offered at Babies R Us. I want to take the breast feeding class and the Caring For Baby class.

My hospital offers free classes. My husband and I are taking the all day Saturday option. We also are using some hypnobithing techniques and my friend who is a midwife will assist me at the hospital.

Mine was 2.5 hours once a week for 7 weeks, free from the hospital. I learned some stuff- but not a ton.

I will only do The Bradley Method. I want a natural birth so I don't think anything else would help me.

For $75 (total) at my hospital I can take 3 different, two session classes on birthing, breastfeeding and life after baby is born. Seemed very reasonable and I plan to do them...

I'm on my second course in my community. In August I went to a new mommy class, given free, to pregnant women, at our health department. We talked about pregnancy, labor, and signs of post partum depression. At the end of the 4, one hour classes, each tuesday evening in August 6p-7p, we each got a diaper bag, with a package of free diapers, diaper rash cream, baby shampoo and lotion, a stuffed animal, baby blanket, and baby toy :)
Right now I'm going to a free birthing class, offered by our local hospital OB department. It every thursday night, this month, from 7-9p. We have learned how to breath during labor, signs of preterm and term labor, positions and techniques to progress labor, and help for pain, during labor. I have 2 more classes to go, but feel I've learned with each course Ive attended.

It depends. Some are free, some run up to 150$. Usually they are weekly for some weeks.
Are they worth it? Yes and no. Your body knows how to give birth, so bad classes can be unpleasant and unhelpful. A thoughtful class can help prepare you and give you coping techniques. They also have info about new baby care and nursing, often. 
We will prob do classes, but mostly because I want my SO to attend and possibly meet other parents to be. 
I also really want to try a birthing from within class, luckily one is taught near here. That seems more relevant to me.
