Which do you think is better when delivering?

they say when you have an epidural it messes ur back up and u will always have back pain..

I had an epidural and my back is fine. I feel this is one of those things that you shouldn't listen to the bad experiences. My mom had 3 kids with no epidural. She told me before I went in "dont be stupid get the epidural." Lol. Anyways if you do proper stretching techniques before hand you won't overly strain your back at delivery time.

Ftm so no experience with delivery yet but from what I've heard off friends and family the pain is over as soon as baby is delivered. I suppose it depends on the person, I have quite a high pain threshold and a serious fear of needles, and I do not like the idea of having an injection in my back and the fear of it going wrong really pushes me away from an epidural, as much as SIL "seriously advises" I have one. If needs must I would but I would prefer to go gas and air all the way, just like my mum (3) my auntie (2) and my gran (4) did

I have had 2 epidurals and one epidural was in for 5 days and I don't have any back problems.

Lol. I have a pretty good pain threshold too but I tell you even with the epidural once that baby's head comes out your area feels so much pressure I can't Imagine it without the epidural lol good luck with what ever your decide. After giving birth you'll feel like you ran a triathlon lol.

I've gone all natural twice but you know you can go in between route? Not have epidural but also not have to go all natural?

That's what I have discussed with my dr with first because I can't do epidural I'm terrified of its risks

I had an epidural when I got a cervical cerclage...it didn't hurt my back at all. I think it varies depending on the person and the doctor

I would personally never consider any medical procedure unless my life or baby was in danger. If you go into birth unsure of what you want you will often go for an epidural. Your mindset is everything in this case!!

I mean I've had epis with all 4 mine an Back pain isn't that bad.

I had an emergancy epidural on my son. Didn't really get an option. Was held still just for them to insert it too. 
I never had any issues after though. 
I do not plan on getting it this time once everything is ok of course.
