Forever a FWB or are we more?

My FWB has been going on since June of 2014. But he still won't commit. He says he cares about me and I'm important to him. I've met his family and his friends but he's still so scared to call me his girlfriend.
Oh by the way he still lives with his ex's, who cheated on him, dad (his mother passed and he had no where else to go.)

Make him choose! Show him who is in charge. He obviously is confused about what he wants. It sounds like he's taking advantage of you, so step up and tell him he needs to choose between you or her. Make him think that you don't need him. That really turns on a guy😉

Do you ever ask him if he has feelings for his ex or if he has sex with her? 
Cause I have a friend who lives with his ex but because they have a child together and he says that she has cheated on him and that she gets jealous when he is talking to other girls but yet she doesn't want to be with him. He wants to make it work for the child

This may not be what you want to hear. But as women, when we put ourselves in the FWB category it's hard to get out. He doesn't see you as anything more because you never have been. As women we will start catching feelings and wonder why the man doesn't. He has subconsciously put you in a "no commitment" zone in his head. FWB rarely turns into a love story. That's just the truth. We know this but think we can be the exception when that's not the case. If you want a real relationship I would say your best bet is starting over with someone new and not doing the FWB. I know you have feelings for your friend but the likelihood of it going anywhere is very slim and its not fair to you.
