Overweight and Trying to Get pregnant ..

So I've been overweight my whole life.. My hubby and I have been together for 4 years. And we think it's the perfect time to start trying. A lot of people are telling me to loose weight before trying to conceive and that it's going to be hard for me to get pregnant. I'm scared that it will take a long time, so it stresses me out.. And that affects my weight even more. Anyone else that's overweight And had a hard time or easy time getting pregnant? Please Help!!

There's also a board called TTC overweight with tons of girls in your situation who are all very supportive!!! I'd suggest you come join us! That goes for anyone else who's in a similar situation. 💜

I am TTC #1 with my wife via ICI. I went to see a obgyn for the first time in a loooong time and I've gained quite a bit of weight since I saw her last. This was also a huge fear of mine because I really want a family. My obgyn said that it's really not that much of a concern as people think. They actually suggest against you trying to lose copious amounts of weight but suggest you get active if you aren't already because that will boost hormone levels. Everyone's bodies are different of course. I had some blood work done, I don't have high BP and they said I'm overall healthy, aside from the fact that I have asthma (completely unrelated to being overweight). She totally put my mind at ease. People in the medical community are becoming more aware of the person's health overall and less worried about the # on the scale. Baby dust to your darling! 💫

It can effect it but it's not likely. How much do you weigh ig you don't mind me asking? I had a baby 220 and I'm trying for a other at 280. It's different for everyone. Just eat healthier and be active and see how it goes. I only say eat healthier because I read that it does help. I'm eating better and walking everyday and my fingers are crossed. Good luck and baby dust!

I don't think you need to worry about your weight being a factor. especially not a reason to not even try you know... sounds like you're being healthy I would just start trying and hope for the best. they say weight can mess with your horemones. but I would just try and hope for the best. good luck!

I'm 5 foot and 223 pounds at 8 months pregnant right now and was 210 before getting pregnant so I'm considered very obese but I've never had a problem getting pregnant. This is baby  #3 for me. Just don't stress out about it! Good luck. ☺️

I got pregnant at 272, I'm 22wks and was at 278 last time we saw the dr. Don't fret too much over the number, worry mostly about being a healthy mama to be able to raise healthy kiddos! (Something I'm working on learning myself)

I'm 5'9 and was 275 when I got pregnant with my son a couple years ago. We weren't really trying, but it obviously happened pretty easy. Just do what you think it best for you.
