Which way looks best? Please please help

Boys go by middle name in my family hubby is cool with that. And he is head over heels for the name I picked.
we have only known it's a boy for three days and he is set on this name lol. 
We both like the J. But worried. What do y'all think?

I would write it out as "Jay" to make paperwork easier. When he applies for a driver's license, insurance, school, etc., they're going to tell him to put his full name, not understanding that it's just one letter.

It will be confusing anytime he needs to do paperwork if his full first name just looks like an initial.

I don't understand the whole going by the middle name thing. If that's what you're going to call them why not make it the name. And as for a single letter first name, that's just stupid. The letter J is not a name

The single initial is going to make everything super challenging, applications, drivers license..  Not to mention YOU are going to call him by his middle name but work, school, any professional interview are going to call him "Jay"  until he corrects them. I know people growing up whose parents called them by their middle name and they HATED it so they had everyone else when they weren't with  their parents call them their first name. Can you imagine his girlfriend updating her status on Facebook "J. just brought me to my favorite restaurant..." just looks weird and confusing.

My husband wanted to name our son "C." because we couldn't come up with a boys C name we liked. The baby would of been called by his middle name which would of been Hayes. We had to name the baby a C name. It turned out to be a girl but we were seriously considering naming him C. Hayes Toren. I think it's neat.
