Help. Dont understand.

Its possible that I am pregnant and I have a yeast infection. I email my doctor informing her that I took the pill she prescribed but not the monistat because I was told by the pharmacist that its not recommended to take either one if pregnant. I asked my doc if that was correct and what I should do. This is her response and I dont understand what shes trying to say. What is diflucan? Is that the pill which has a name of fluconazole? What does she mean by first two weeks of my cycle and second half of the cycle?

Doc :We can order a pregnancy test by blood if you feel we need to based on the results of your urine test. In large doses Diflucan is not used in pregnancy. I try to avoid in early pregnancy if we can though if yeast symptoms are bothersome, you "weigh" whether or not to use it.

In general, I would use any medication in the first two weeks of your cycle and try, if possible, to refrain from use in the second half of the cycle. If you are highly symptomatic, I would use the medication as the benefits outweigh the rare risks.

Let me know of you plans
