Acupuncture & funneling/short cervix at 31 weeks
I am 31 weeks, and on Monday I went in for a routine ultrasound and they noticed the baby's head was extremely low and realized that it was pressing its head on my cervix. They further realized that my cervix was funneling and was 1.48cm. I ended up being admitted into the hospital overnight do they can do steroid shots for the baby to breathe in case I go into preterm delivery. I was then put on modified bed rest. I decided to try acupuncture yesterday per my doulas suggestion. As soon as I finished, I could immediately feel less pressure on my pelvis/cervix area, and felt the baby move up. I always felt like the baby was really low and putting pressure on my pelvis. I was leaking pee, and it hurt to bounce up and down. Then today I had my prenatal appointment where they found the baby had completely flipped so the baby's head was up under my left rib, and the feet were down below my belly button. I feel like the acupuncture really helped move the baby away from my cervix, but now my doctor is worried that the baby is in breech because if I go into preterm labor, I will need a c-section. But what is worse? The baby putting pressure on my thinning cervix, or having the baby in breech position. She also did not like that I went to acupuncture. What do you guys think? Has anyone tried acupuncture? Any success stories?
