Topomax and BC pill?

Any one else take these together I take really high doses of topomax and it says it makes BC not work. I just want to know your stories?

My neurologist told me that unless you experience break through bleeding your BC will still work. Also she said low doses (I am on 25 mg) don't affect it!

I know I shouldn't take them together but It from so long to find a BC to work for me I use to take depo they told me I shouldn't keep taking it and I'm not comfortable with all those Iud things I'm just curious if anyone has axxidently got pregnant while on both I am aware of the risks my doctors are not too concerned

Not only will it make all types of BC less effective, if you do get pregnant it can cause birth defects in the baby. (If you later decide you want to have children, you will need to discuss the risks/benefits with your doctor). This info comes from years and years of research in the field of medicine. Don't take my word for it, you can look it up online. 
You'll probably want to get on a non-drug birth control, such as the Paragard copper IUD or use condoms or spermicide that you put in your vagina before sex.

My doctor suggested that medication for me but told me it would probably effect my birth control (pill). He told me that the depo shot might still be effective w/ that though, so I'd say talk your doctor about it.

No, you shouldn't take them together bc it can reduce the effectiveness of your birth control.
