Does your MIL bug the crap out of you?

Mine does! I don't even know why she bugs me so much. I think part of it is because of the things she says, part of it is my Mamabear coming out and, and part of it is that she's sooo much different than my parents.

I have so many examples of the stuff she's said but the most recent is when she came over yesterday and said "you can't appreciate how beautiful she (MY DAUGHTER) is because you see her every day". I understand that maybe doesn't mean anything by what she says but she is seriously thick in the head if she thinks that anyone can appreciate a child's beauty more than their own mother. It cheesed me off so bad but I didn't want to start a fight so I came on here to rant instead...

I avoid mine. Yours sounds like a saint compared to my she devil. She doesn't go out of her way to say bad things but when she does it's really really bad. She won't acknowledge our son at  all. When she does claim a child it my husband daughter from his past relationship. For ex at Christmas she asked to only take his daughter to his sisters at Christmas my husband said he wasn't sure about what plans we had to talk to me about it but his daughter was playing with my daughter and he didn't want to seperate them on Christmas she called me first she stated very rudely how she doesn't know why she has to ask me permission about my SO daughter because she isn't my daughter ( she said that ) I should have a say so. Then she said her son didn't want to seperate the two girls but after all it's the holidays and her granddaughter should be with her real family. I was flabbergasted ( because I guess me and he dad aren't family )there was more to it then that. But I got side tracked I personally avoid my MIL and cut all ties. If she loves your daughter is let the little stuff go but I do get your pain.

My mother bugs the crap out of me. The only reason we have a civil relationship now is because I live several thousand miles away from her so we have very limited contact.

In contrast,  I love my MIL to bits and voluntarily spend loads of time with her. She lives a hundred miles away and I wish she was closer.

When my MIL gets mad at any of my husbands brothers and sisters they usually won't go around her much. She then gets upset and says they've "taken the grandkids off of her" and she calls DFCS on them saying they're not taking care of the kids and all sorts of bs. I'm sure when my husband and I have kids his parents will cause problems. So I bought a house right before we got married and we're about 35 miles away from them so they never come around. It helped.

My boyfriend's mother is so terrible to him. She's controlling and manipulative. Currently cut his younger sisters off from talking to him.

Yes my mother in law drives me up the wall. Mostly because she is very two faced. She'll say she loves me, but when my boyfriend and I are having issues she's the first one to drop me and blame all his life problems on me.

Her whole attitude around me just screams phony. And I am not one for games like that.
