Cousin MC

So... I'm 14 weeks pregnant and am so excited! However, I was on the phone with my MIL this morning. They're visiting family this week, and last night her niece (my cousin in law, whom I haven't met in person) had a miscarriage.

I sent her a message saying I was praying for her. But I also thought about sending her a gift card to a restaurant for her and her husband.

Is that too much? I know some women who have had a miscarriage don't want pregnant women trying to try to help. But I just want to do something for her?

So, my question is- would that be appropriate?
