Irregular cycle

Hi all,

I'm sure this question has been asked a million times before, but how do I really track ovulation with such an irregular cycle. Since stopping birth control ~6 months ago, my cycles were 45, 30, then 49 days.

I have started with ovulation tests since day 16, but nothing yet and I'm on day 22. I plan to use until I (hopefully) see an LH surge. It's just discouraging that I can't even estimate when it is that I ovulate because I'm so irregular. Some say to average the 3 cycles which puts me at 41 days, but that just seems like a shot in the dark. Thoughts?! Thank you!!!
