Labor and delivery

I'm trying to get through to my boyfriend that I don't want to tell people when I go into labor and what hospital we are at until the next day I have my baby. He says that it's selfish and asked if he had any say in it what so ever. I mean he does have say in it but I don't want people in the waiting room because that's just pressure on me to get the baby out faster and after its born I want just me, him and the baby for the first day since this will be our first child. I want to be able to make sure we had the chance to spend time with our newborn and for me and the baby to be done with testing and cleaned up and to try breastfeeding. Plus me and the baby gets some sleep before being bombarded with family. Am I wrong for not wanting anyone to know til the next day?
