Baby in position question...

So my son has been head down for a bit now (just how i carry babies, I'm tiny and they drop early). Baby boy has been head down and turned with his back to my left side and legs/feet to my right ribs. The question I'm having is should he be actually moving around, as in changing positions? He kicks and moves his legs and arms but hasn't shifted position in days, at least. I am currently 31+3 and have been having contractions early (again just how I carry my babied) but I've never had a baby settle like this before.
