If you applied for a grant what was the outcome?

I husband and I are trying to figure out if it's worth applying for a grant. They both work full-time and we own our house well minus the mortgage. I believe we are considering and the average middle-class.

No harm in trying. 
If my insurance didn't cover a huge chunk I would have applied. 
We still ended up paying about $4,000 out of pocket with copays and meds and freezing and thawing fees etc.

It would be worth it to me to try.

We are going to apply to one from baby quest. The deadline isn't till November 18th. We our starting our first IVF cycle tomorrow.

Not sure if it covers the meds your currently on but I was just told about a program called Compassionate Care. Based on your income and geography they offer 25-75% off fertility meds.  We just applied and haven't heard back but I have my fingers crossed since our insurance doesn't cover anything and the IUI meds alone are running us $500/cycle.  Good luck!

Hi Melissa, that gives us some hope. We have applied to two different discount medicine places. The one we have heard back from is only giving us 5% off. I hope the other place gives us more. We are going to try to apply for the grant. One specialist said I have PCOS. Another said I don't. What is BCBS?

Hi Steph. My clinic applied me for a NYS grant. We are in the same boat--own our home, I'm a nurse, my husband's a musician and music teacher. After everything, we only ended up paying ~$2500 for IVF, one fresh transfer, one frozen, all monitoring, all meds and storage of embryos for a year. I do have BCBS and they covered most medication costs that were not specifically IVF meds like progesterone, Estrace, Lupron, steroids, aspirin, etc. I've been really happy with my experience there.
