Which week will your be able to hear a heartbeat?

I'm going in tomorrow for my first dr. Appointment...my husband and I are hoping to see if w can hear the heartbeat but officially we don't know how far I am. How early can I get an ultrasound? How many weeks do I have to be?

6 weeks 3 days with transvaginal ultrasound.

My doctor did an ultrasound at 6.5 weeks and we measured the heartbeat there!

I didn't hear it until 12 weeks. We saw our little bean at 8 weeks, but my midwives group doesn't let you listen during transvaginal ultrasounds because there is some research that it heats the fetus slightly which could lead to autism. So they avoid it to be safe until they can pick it up via Doppler. But I think a lot of offices let you listen at the first appointment!

My baby liked to be really far back. I didn't hear his heartbeat until 16-17 weeks. But with my first I heard him super early.

I heard it clear and loud at 6 weeks exactly with transvaginal ultrasound. Didn't hear it with a Doppler until 16 weeks, but I had an anterior placenta.
