Baby shower for baby #2?

Crystal • High school sweethearts who never fell out of love.
My son will be 5 soon and I kept most of the larger things from when he was a baby. Crib, playpen, car seat (saving for Trade in event at BRU), and most of his baby clothes. There are a bunch of things we got rid of though, baby toys, bassinet ( a friend of mine was in need and coundnt afford one) monitor, baby stroller, and some smaller things. 
Now I know if we have a girl we'll need clothes lol, but what did you do if you were having the same gender for your second child? 
My sister said she's throwing me something regardless and so is my MIL! I'm beyond blessed but just need to feedback. TIA
