I've Been Friends With a Girl Going on. About 8-9 years  now and She's expecting a Child . Her Mom invited me to the baby shower but she hasn't we both have a Facebook and snapchat and she hasn't bothered to contact me ... If she doesn't invite me I won't go ... Is that being too petty? Or is it right? Since she has move to Gulfport we barely have a friendship now or conversate... Plus she's younger than me... I need advice

I didn't invite anyone to my shower. The person who threw my shower for me sent the invites. That's typically how it's done.

People rarely do invitations to their own showers. Traditionally they're a gift from a family member or close friend, who is the one who does the inviting. You're under no obligation to go unless you already RSVPed yes. If you don't feel close to her any longer don't go, but the invitation from her mother shouldn't be a reason to avoid it.

Her mom is probably just taking care of everything shower related. It could also be a surprise and if you wait for her to invite you to her surprise party you'll be waiting awhile. I know I didn't send invites out for my shower my mom and aunt handled everything. Only thing I did was pick a theme and invitations. I say go anyways. You were obviously invited for a reason.

That's petty, the mom is the one planning the party so she's the one that gets the names to invite from the girl and does the inviting for her.

Btw all baby showers I've been to, thw invitations were organised by someone else. That's the point - so the mum to be doesn't have to stress!
