I did it...
Idk if anyone remembers me posting about my MIL a month or so ago but the issue was that I didn't want her in the delivery room with me, she babies my husband and thinks he needs her in his life 24/7, she told me she's gonna be in the delivery room with me because she refuses to sit in the waiting room with her ex(husbands dad) and his new wife, the proceeded to tell me what hobbies my children WILL have because that's gonna be her way of bonding with them because she doesn't see her daughters kids that often, also that she's gonna be our babysitter everyday while we work....
I didn't address all these issues today....but she made a comment about how my baby needs to hang in there until my due date because she plans on being out of town the month before....knowing I have a high risk pregnancy and my chances of giving birth early are higher...and she started going about how excited she was about how she's gonna be in the room so I kinda just spat it out "chances are I'm gonna deliver a little early, either way we don't plan on telling anyone when I do, "husbands name" and I want time with our child alone, and if something happens we want time to recover, knowone will know about the baby for a day or two after because we want to avoid being crowded and avoid the drama"....
She got a stunned look on her face "well 'so name' is gonna want me there he needs my support"
Me: "no he doesn't, we don't want anyone there sorry"
She got really quiet after that and didn't speak to me....I'm not sure if I did the right thing or not but it's something that seriously has been stressing me to the core.
