Acne and birth control

I am just finishing my first package of birth control. I'm on LoLoestrinFe. I've never really had acne but ever since taking birth control I feel like I've been breaking out worse. I have zits on my neck, cheeks and forehead. My normal acne would be a zit or two right when I get my period. I heard birth control is supposed to suppress acne. I also think I've been spotting, my discharge looks brown like dried blood or something. Not sure what's going on. Wondering if anybody can speak on either issue here please :)))))
