Idk if my crush likes me

So I've been talking to my crush on and off since July. Sometimes he seems like he likes me but he's never really asked me to hang out. He'll text me for awhile then go MIA. In front of my mom he gives her the impression and makes statements that infer he wouldn't mind dating me,but he's never expressed this type of stuff with me. What do I do cause I'm always sarcastic with him now cause idk if he's just acting.
