Can you ovulate without getting a surge?

Ive been tracking my ovulation and the test line hasnt been darker than the control line but ive been recording my bbt and according to my Temp i ovulated on tuesday night mabey early wednesday morning. Is it possible to have my ovulation but not get the Surge kn the test? Also before my supposed ovulation day i had egg white CM and then cramping on the lower left side.
