Ovulation question

Is it normal or possible to ovulate on CD9? I have a regular cycle (28-30 days) and always ovulate mid-cycle, but the past couple of days I've been feeling weird abdominal twinges. I didn't think much of it assuming it was post-period cramps, but I have back pains and mild nausea to go with it....and just now I realised my cm was quite thick & sticky (sorry for details). I have OPKs at home but on an 8 hour shift now so I don't have them to hand!
